Owner, Tom Baugh, received his degree in Construction Management from Southern Illinois University in 1986 when the program was the only one in the country.

While his life path took him through various cities and careers, his passion for building remained evident. Following his brief NFL career, he began teaching Industrial Arts near Chicago, Tom also maintained a residential construction business, providing an outlet to continue to build his skills and fine tune his understanding of the construction industry. 

Tom and his wife of 38 years enjoyed their time in Kansas City immediately after college, and returned to the area in 1998 with their two daughters. Tom joined a local construction company where he spent 14 years. He practiced his trade skills in the field, behind the desk, as well as networking to help grow their presence in the commercial industry.
KC Constructors is the result of those relationships Tom built and continues to build. Now with more than 30 years in the construction industry, he is proud to have others calling on him to provide guidance, service and expertise in a field that he remains excited about. Tom takes pride in understanding first hand what it takes be a good craftsman, a good businessman and a good person. He tries to represent that every day to his family, employees, trade partners and business associates. It has taken many years of hard work but it is the effort he puts forth that has become the example of what he expects from the people he tries to surround himself with. The reward is the results that come from these efforts.
